Boof
A boof is the stroke that keeps the bow up over a ledge instead of diving into the hole. Timing matters more than power. One button. Press when the bow reaches the lip.

space, ↑, click, or tap to boof. Hold ↓ (or the left side of the screen) to duck the logs. One stroke per lip; mashing costs you the combo.
Perfect is within 70 ms of the lip. Late still clears it, just uglier. Plug one and you flip; three flips and you swim.
Flow rises with every boof, and faster water means less time to read the next lip.
